John Trotter & Co Ophthalmic Opticians practice is prominently situated on George Street in Edinburghs city centre, near the Assembly rooms. The practice has a classic design that is warm and welcoming. The traditional design of the front practice contrasts with the high tech equipment in the consulting areas.

Our Optometrists

We have two principal optometrists; the managing partner Eleanor Leech and Coral Allan. After gaining experience as a hospital optometrist in Middlesburgh and researching into causes of Myopia in Cardiff, Eleanor has been in the practice since 1998; Coral since 1996.

Our Dispensing manager, Mr Chetty, is well known to all our clients as he has been with the practice for over 30 years and he is now ably assisted by Razia Mahomed.

General Optical Council Qualified Staff

Our staff are experienced, professionally qualified dispensing opticians, registered with the General Optical Council. They are specialists in spectacle frame specification, spectacle styling and spectacle and contact lens design. They are the ideal professionals to deal with your vision health and eyewear requirements.

Front Desk Staff

The reception staff at Trotters are the first people you will meet or talk to. The team consist of Joan, Anne, Rona and Laura. You will find them always friendly, keen and ready to help and answer any queries.

Spectacles - Pay Monthly

We offer the Eye Plan payment system whereby people who like to have several pairs of spectacles for different situations or occasions can pay for them on a monthly basis. For such customers this can be very cost effective, with discounts as high as 40% on some spectacles.
